Australia's Most Boring Attractions 2024

In 2024, seven of the Top 100 World's Most Boring Attractions are in Australia.

The team at Solitaired (Florida USA) worked out a boredom score for each place, zeroing in on 11 keywords to figure out which spots are the least exciting.

The research took a close look at 66.7 million reviews from 3,290 attractions on Google, covering 71 countries and 384 cities. They focused analysis on keyword mentions indicative of a bored tourist. Those keywords were "boring," "bored," "bore," "boredom," "tiresome," "dull," "drab," "lackluster," "lifeless," "mediocre," and "tedious."

Where the list begins to falter is firstly MONA in Tasmania regarded as one of the world's great art galleries, known for its unique and magical exhibitions. Then comes Luna Park in Melbourne, a park that has been entertaining families (young and old) for over 100 years.

We also query the Museum of Sydney being named. It consistently hosts some of Australia's best indigenous art.
